First, it took several visits to the office after not being able to open the room door with the cards given us and eventually staff decided that the battery in the door was dead but they did not know how to change it! Our room was about as far from the office as possible and I was the one who walked back and forth to the office. Second, when they eventually let us into the room - #139 we found that the floor had recently been shampooed but was still very wet - it smelled and when we walked across the carpet to the tile we slipped and almost fell as our shoes were wet from whatever chemical was used on the carpet. Staff should never have made this room available to any visitor! At this point, being quite frustrated (I didn't want to search for another hotel as we had driven a long way and I was tired) I asked to be placed in a different room and we were given a card key to room #143. My wife and I hadn't been in this room for ten minutes when our little dog crawled under the bed and pulled out a purple ''pleasure toy." Disgusting!!! This alone strongly indicated that the cleaning staff was not vacuuming under the bed between visitors. If it was somehow possible to give a negative # review to this hotel I would give it one. I'll never stay here again, never stay in another Day's Inn and will not recommend to anyone to stay here. Greatly disappointed!!
