The first room we were given had such a strong tobacco smoke smell we could hardly breathe upon entering. Went to the front desk and were given another room that did not have the horrific smell. However, the bathroom door was falling apart and could not be closed. Both rooms were very dark with the lights on, the rooms were not clean, the linens were dirty and when I complained I was told they were clean just stained. Which did not make us any more comfortable. We covered the pillows with tissues and slept on top of the bedding fully dressed, as we were disgusted by the filth and just needed some rest before we got back on the road. Upon checking out and explaining all the issues, we again were told the linens were clean and just stained. They acted like they had no idea about the bathroom door being broken. However, it was obvious that many attempts had been made trying to repair it. We were also told they were planning to remodel soon and were aware of the lighting issues. They offered no apologies or any type of discount for the condition of their rooms. We will never stay at any Days Inn properties in the future. We would have felt safer sleeping in our car and probably more comfortable, not to mention it was immaculate by comparison. Total waste of money. We absolutely do not recommend this Days Inn to any traveler.
