(This review form has "Excellent" prefilled beneath this field, and there is no way I can change it!) The room was spacious and could have been very nice. But there are 2 serious issues. The 1st is that housekeeping was poor. There were dirty surfaces, crumbs in the refrigerator's trough-like handle, and water left in the ice bucket (even though a new bag had been draped over the edge - did no one look inside the bucket???). The 2nd is that the floors seem to transmit more noise than I've experienced in any other hotel. Housekeeping needs some serious re-training or supervision. (We went over all touch surfaces and controls with alcohol before we settled in.) The front desk staff were very nice. The breakfast area layout was good and the food was fine, but there was no fruit. There seemed to be only one luggage cart in the building, and it was not available when we moved out. I used it when we moved in, and it was small and shaky. We have been at other Holiday Inn Express properties, and this one is no comparison.

Absolutely disgusting smell in the room they assigned to us, which had the wrong bed to begin with. I don't know how to describe it any other way than sour milk mixed with wet dog. We had to leave after less than 30 seconds in the door, it was so bad. Unfortunately management was not at all willing to cancel the reservation "because of policy" so I'll be disputing the credit card charge and leaving reviews on every site possible. I don't care what your policy says, I paid for a habitable stay and did not receive one. These companies have to start respecting their customers because negative reviews everywhere cost them a lot more money than a single night's reservation. We walked out and went to Best Western Plus Lincoln instead and have a nice habitable room, unlike the one at Holiday. The guy at Best Western said that's not the first time he has heard of those same problems from that hotel. I wonder if they have a mold issue.
