My husband and I have stayed at some wonderful hotels over the years but we would have to say that the Roosevelt in New Orleans tops them all. ||Excellent communication prior to our arrival to book spa, dinner and tour appointments. Romeo, who checked us in, was very welcoming and provided us with credit at the bars and upgraded us to a suite from the standard king room we had booked for our 6 night stay. What a treat! From reception to the bellmen to the doormen to the waitstaff to the bartenders to the concierge (a fine tour of the hotel’s history and lobby by Don), to housekeeping, everyone was friendly and helpful. ||The hotel itself is beautiful and very well maintained (we were in Tower 1). Its location a block from Canal ensures easy access to the French Quarter yet is a much quieter choice. Don’t miss the perfectly prepared fried chicken at the Fountain Lounge on Monday nights with live music. ||We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
The hotel lobby is outstanding at holiday time with festive lights yet with plenty of intimate spaces to get a cocktail or have snacks, lunch or dinner. The checkin was quick even with a few lines and so helpful and efficient. Once inside the large room, you are surrounded by quiet, cozy beds and pillows and lots of great touches like the Nespresso machine, bottled water, large closets, etc. Dinner at the Fountain was nice but unless you reserve in advance may be complicated to get into. Lots of visitors during Christmas season. This is classic, traditional New Orleans with a sweet staff that clearly enjoy being a part of a great experience. I can't wait to return.
