Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort and Spa

When we arrived at the hotel the valet parking was conveluted and the lack of order worried us because we have an expensive car. Once we finally situated our car and gathered our belongings to check in.... The hotel lobby was also chaotic. A long line of guests waiting to check in and the lobby was very hot. After 30 ish minutes of waiting we finally reached the front on the line and were told our room was not ready. After some frustration we rolled out suitcase to the back towards the pool area to get drinks and lunch. We were overwhelmed by what happened next when we were told we could not sit down at an empty lounge chair. So we went to the restaurant outdoors and again, it took forever to be greeted. At this point I was extremely annoyed and ready to scream. We moved to the bar and Again; annoyance. It was after minutes of sitting there feeling invisible when finally a new bartender in training (blonde with blue eyes) finally greeted us and took our order. Once we had drinks things started to look better. The food was also good. We had beer, calamari, fish tacos, and tuna salad. Also had a yummy coffee. Once our room was ready we went towards the elevator and oh my wait time!!!!! This was awful. The heat, the line and wait time to get on the elevator was intense. We decided to stop waiting and went up 8 flights of stairs. Once we reached our rooms, the view was excellent. Few things we noticed was mold in the shower walls and lots of dust on the ac vents. The room itself was nice. We did not go out into the $20 fee of chairs and towels we were charged because the ocean was filled with sea lice and sea weed. Our stay was short, thankfully because we wouldn't go back to this hotel.
