Sometimes your best experiences come at the most unexpected times and places and this is one of them! We are Marriott Bonvoy members and we had one free night stay available to us and we really didn’t feel like traveling a great distance to use it, so my wife thought why not do a staycation and we’ll drive 24 minutes to the Sawgrass Marriott Resort and spend the night there. After all, we’d been to the clubhouse many times, driven by the Sawgrass Marriott and often wondered what it was like. Let me tell you it was of the best hotel experiences I can remember in the last 5 years! We had a room with a king size bed overlooking the lagoon and waterfalls, you could see two of the pools available to you as well as the restaurant American Gator Club. The rooms are extremely clean, more than ample storage in dressers and closets, small refrigerator, safe for valuables and double sinks in the bathroom. The grounds are absolutely superb, gorgeous walking trails and the location couldn’t be more ideal if you’re visiting here from out of town. The inside of the hotel is spacious, extremely clean and they’ve got an outdoor area on the first floor with fire pits outside, we barely scratched the surface of all that’s offered here. But here’s what really made the big difference for us, it was the team/staff at the Resort that deserve praise and recognition. You are greeted warmly by everyone here, from the valet to the front desk to the team in the restaurants and the spa. Superb customer experience here! The gym is equipped with 20+ pieces of TechnoGym equipment so if you’re used to a robust workout bring your gear. The adults only pool that we went to adjacent to the fitness center is quaint and also manned by a very friendly and welcoming crew. I can’t wait to come back!
