If it was possible to rate this less than 1 star, I would have. So, after reading the reviews, we decided to give it a chance anyway. Right in the maze of interstate in downtown Shreveport, at first site, it didn't look too bad. On entering, you can tell that it was once a really nice casino/hotel. That time has passed, though. We had traveled late into the night, and once we got in our room, we initially thought it was nice. That thought quickly vanished as we walked around the room. The carpet looked like a murder scene, the furniture was beat up and dirty, and the bathroom wasn't bad but definitely not maintained properly. I wish I had gotten a picture of the nightstand that had a chunk taken out of the drawer face and was being held together with 2 pieces of packing tape. The right side queen bed was made in reverse order, with the sheet UNDER the mattress pad. There was NO top sheet at all. Luckily, the other bed was ok. Had it not been so late, we would've requested another room or refund and gone and found a different hotel. There are 2 good points to this stay. The first being the AC in the room was really, really good. The second was the view in the rear view mirror as we were driving away. Everyone who has given a bad review is 100% correct. For everyone else, I suggest you request and spend a night in room 921. That will probably change your mind.

Over the years my wife and I have stayed at this hotel even before it transitioned to Bally's. Prior stays have always been somewhat above average. However, our recent stay thru the Thanksgiving holidays was less than OK. The rooms have not been updated (same old decor), we had warm water not hot, large chunks of hair in the shower and small pieces of hair in the tub. Short on bath clothes, had to go to the cleaning person and retrieve towels and bath cloths. I did not know you could mess up a chef salad, but the lettuce was wilted/soggy. The only good thing that came out of this trip was the front desk manager agreed to refund the second night room charges plus fees.
