This place was exceptional, the hosts were great and friendly, even inviting us for some lunch which was tasty Lam lot. We had the use of bikes to ride around, for the price of 28 dollars Australian a night you couldn't ask for more. The room was basic but clean and comfortable no TV but thats not a bad thing. If doing the boat trip around the nature reserve go early as it tends to get really busy we had the whole waterway to ourselves. The town is more like a village the people here were very friendly and inviting it was rice harvesting time so all the families were out helping.
We chose this homestay because it was in a quieter location and were so pleased that we did. Van Long is a nice quiet town where we were able to do some shopping and have a haircut. The family who run the homestay are really friendly and welcoming and helpful, organizing scooter hire, dawn boat trip on local nature reserve and onward bus tickets. Food was delicious and plentiful! It was great being able to borrow a bicycle whenever we wanted to go somewhere, especially as the area is delightfully flat! Highly recommended and we would definitely return here.
