I rated 5 but one small lapse means it’s prob a 4.5 but still highly recommended. Note for hotel re that lapse at end of this review.||We arrived in a Grab from the airport late morning & well before normal check-in time but the staff were able to have a room ready within less than 10 mins. A welcome drink preceded a seamless check-in & our bags were taken to the room.||I went to flip the porter a small tip (thinking it was 10,000) but it was politely declined. When putting it back in my pocket I realised it was only 1,000. So either the hotel has a policy of not accepting tips or the porter was insulted by my stinginess :o) Sorry mate.||Room was on 8th floor & I think we paid a little more for natural light/opening windows. Great room with free minibar items (non-alcoholic), comfortable bed, & spacious bathroom. Anyway, we couldn’t wait to get out & explore HCM.||Nearby is the biggest, fattest, meatiest Bahn Min you can buy in Vietnam & that set us up for the day. We walked through gardens to the post office, Heart of Darkeness Brewery, & later that evening strolled to beer street in the opposite direction. Location of this great value modern property could not be beaten in our option.||A swim in the hotel’s top level infinity pool & a few sundowner beers topped off the daylight hotels. Being able to charge back poolside beers to our room was awesome & we dealt to many Saigon Specials. ||After a big night on beer street, we were looking forward to breakfast & the selection did not disappoint, however items in the Bain-marie were cold or luke warm at best. This was the one let down & I’d have informed staff at the restaurant or on check-out if I’d been asked if everything was OK with our meal/stay. This was standard practice everywhere else we stayed in Vietnam (as it should be in all hospitality settings).
